About

This volunteer opportunity is drawn from more than a dozen different prevention science activities or PSAs. Each volunteer PSA assignment is teaching and research related, so the volunteers will work under a professional or professor who directs the PSAs. We have in-person as well as the option of completely remote flexible hours.
Expected contribution is 2- 4 hours with option for ongoing weekly volunteer placements or longer hours. We currently have many opportunities for every major and qualification based on the needs or areas of interest for each community or student volunteer.

About Prevention Science

Utah Prevention Science (UPSc) Institute utilizes surplus community and university (CommU) resources to increase awareness and support for prevention science activities or PSAs. Prevention Science is the most effective, sustainable, and efficient solution for crime, disease, and poverty rates everywhere. Now more that ever before, there is a critical need for CommU volunteers to help support PSAs in every CommU.

About the Opportunity
Utah Prevention Science (UPSC) Institute is currently working to research and develop free, high quality open educational resources(OER) to replace costly textbooks. This important project will help to guarantee free access to higher education and high income jobs to tens of thousands of Uthans who are trapped in our intergenerational cycle of crime, disease, and poverty (CDP) rates. We will also save millions of taxpayer dollars that are currently being wasted in CDP rates every year.

Volunteers will assist by facilitating university teaching and research activities (UTARAs) for project the project directors assigned to them. The teaching activities include facilitating instructions and presentations to community and university learners or clients. The research activities include topical searches, literature reviews, data collections, data analysis, and other related tasks. In addition, all volunteers are expected to help facilitate prevention science communications, meetings, and documentations.
