Summer Camp Help Needed: Need interns, volunteers, paid positions to work with children affected by trauma (k-12)

About

 I am hoping to recruite passionate young people that seek to work with, mentor, or teach children impacted by trauma in our community. Every summer, we offer an 8-week summer camp, Camp PEACE, to children that have been exposed to domestic or family violence with the goal to facilitate peace education, alternatives to violence, resilience building, mindfulness practices and cognitively based compassion training. Camp PEACE offers a mix of social-emotional learning along with fun summer camp activities all while promoting tolerance, impartiality, empathy, self-compassion and compassion for others. I am looking for people to be head teachers (grades k-1, 4-5 and Middle School) co teachers, helpers, facilitators for science projects (hands on), yoga, tai chi, and more)  For further information on tasks, duties, and projects please email me.

 
This summer I will be offering intern, volunteer, and paid positions for those students best suited for the job. We are looking for motivated and passionate students that are friendly, positive, caring, patient, adaptable, ready to share their talents, and looking to make a positive mark and influence on the world. are interested please feel free to email me directly at cassie@wrcdv.org.

You must be able to pass a background check. Be fully vaccinated. Be passionate about children affected by trauma. Be adaptable and resourceful.

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
