Volunteers provide organizational, administrative, and on-site support for Summer Art Camp programs and other activities. Volunteers should have excellent organizational skills, basic computer skills, and should be comfortable interacting with the public and specifically with children as young as 5 years old (and their parents).

To ensure the quality of Leisure Services Department programs and the safety of their participants, volunteers are subject to a background screening.  Volunteers in ongoing direct contact with vulnerable populations (e.g. children under the age of 18, developmentally disabled persons, the frail, or the elderly) must have a background screening conducted as stipulated by Leisure Services Volunteer Policy and Procedures. Upon registering for these positions, a background screening is required by the Leisure Services Department. The screening program is at no cost to our volunteers and is valid for one calendar year. You can submit your information for the background check at this link: https://athensclarkecountyleisureserv.quickapp.pro/
